Thanks Roger for the flash-infos!

In which store can you still buy the radio?
It's sold out everywhere.....

There are serious supply problems with anything coming from China.

Major parts of China are still in hard COVID lockdowns, because they have a COVID zero policy, which does not appear to be working.

In fact there are major supply problems with all sorts of stuff, not just things from China.
I've been waiting a month for the local garage to get some replacement parts for my car, and AFIK they are supposed to be made in Japan.

Goodness knows when the supply chain will be back to normal.

GPS is not necessary unless perhaps you want to use the radio often for satellite work in different locations.

AFIK The GPS is not very sensitive, because the GPS antenna is inside the front part of the radio and does not face upwards.

Hi,

By settings, do you mean all the ones in the Options sub-menus ?

All survives, but you need to press the GREEN button to validate the changes you've made, exiting with RED cancels any change. Hence, powering OFF the device while in any option menu will cancel the latest change you've made.

Also, you didn't mentionned the HT you're using. RD-5R postpone any flash writings by 500ms, as the power switch controls the VCC of the board, not the MCU, unike other supported models.

Cheers.

Hello,

Question: Got an Retevis RT90 device on loan. Firmware: P006.009 CPS: 1.27
When I speak on VHF-simpex (TX DMR mode) I hear a helicopter noise from the device loudspeaker!
The helicopter noise cannot be heard on UHF (TX DMR mode). Can anyone test or confirm that?

It shouldn’t do that.
It sounds like your VHF signal is being picked up by the audio amp. Make sure your antenna is well away from the radio and that your power supply is a able to supply the current needed.

Colin.

Colin,
the external antenna is connected (Daimond X50) and the power supply is supplying sufficient current (12A).
It's on loan, who knows what happened to it...

But thanks for your hint. I assume a new radio will work fine and not leak VHF-TX into the built in speaker.

I searched the thread, but it seems you didn't mentioned the hardware revision of your MD9600.

Hi Daniel,

this is my hardware. I'm not sure if the firmware matches the hardware version! the radio is borrowed....
I ordered a new device (RT90) from the retevis store today.
