A new firmware version is available for both the GD77 type radios as well as the MD9600 type radios.

Changes :

* Support for per-channel "No Beep" and "No Eco" functionality
* Support for All Call TG

The No Beep function prevents the radio from making any beep sounds on specific channels, or specific VFO's. Uses of this include when connecting the radio to an APRS decoder

The No Eco function, prevents the radio from entering power saving on speficif channels or specific VFO's. Uses of this also include when connecting the radio to an APRS decoder.

No.
The bootloader in the MD9600 is completely different.
It requires a STM DFUse driver and I had to write a standalone loader to support that protocol.
See the initial post about installing the firmware\

Thanks Roger for the flash-infos!

In which store can you still buy the radio?

Look for the Retevis RT-90. That is the same radio and is still available. Retevis.eu claims it has them in stock.
