DM-1801 transistor part number ?

Post by ve2wkr » Thu Jan 26, 2023 7:37 pm

HI!
This DM-1801 has a blown VHF final ( I am assuming it's the VHF final , since VHF stopped working , but UHF is fine)
Does anybody have an idea of what the part number might be ?
(transistor with the hole in it )

AFIK there is no BOM or schematic for this radio

You could look for the schematic of another similar radio, eg MD380 or perhaps UV5R and use the same transistor

From what I can remember those transistors are rated at 6 or 6.5W and are probably FETs

The GD77 uses AFT05MS004NT1 FETs in both the VHF and the UHF PA stages. Only the tuning components are different. The same device would almost certainly work in the DM1801.

They are easily available from Farnell/Newark or Mouser.

Yes, I found that Baofeng uses these in many radios.
I ordered the part you suggested.
Thanks Colin.

I can confirm that AFT05MS004NT1 works fine in the DM-1801 as a VHF final.
It was quite difficult to replace, but finally the radio works well with 5W output on both VHF and UHF.
Thanks!
