OpenGD77 and Community CPS updates
OpenGD77 and Community CPS updates
I've updated both the Community CPS and the OpenGD77 CPS
The now include the revised Spanish / Catalan translations, and the OpenGD77 CPS no longer warns the user that the enhanced mode only works with the OpenGD77, (since this is now a separate exe which the user should only be using if they are uploading to the OpenGD77)
The updated OpenGD77 CPS (0.0.4) can be downloaded from here
https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... taller.exe
I know that some people have been getting IO issue when uploading to the OpenGD77 from the CPS, but I've not been able to reproduce this.
As far as I'm aware the problem did not exist in the the older Community CPS, even though the codebase is 99% the same.
But anyone who is having IO problems, could try the Community CPS
https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... taller.exe
And let me know if that one also has the same problems.
Note the Community CPS only supports 16 channels per zone, to maintain compatibility with the official firmware, but the OpenGD77 firmware supports both 16 and 80 channel zones hence the Community CPS should still work with the OpenGD77 firmware as long as you only use 16 channel zones in your codeplug.

Re: OpenGD77 and Community CPS updates
thank you
Re: OpenGD77 and Community CPS updates
Hi Roger.
I'm planning to change to OpenGD77 Firmware, which CPS I'll need to use? Can I use OpenGD77 CPS directly?
Thanks

Re: OpenGD77 and Community CPS updates
It is my understanding that you can go straight to using the OpenGD77 CPS to load the OpenGD77 FW for the first time. This will also allow you to take advantage of the 80 channel zones.
Re: OpenGD77 and Community CPS updates
Bud is correct
Go straight to the OpenGD77 CPS, and it will update your exiting codeplug to 80 channel zones.
BTW. The firmware supports both 16 and 80 channel zones.
The reason I had to make a new CPS for the OpenGD77, was that its not practical to have a single version of the CPS that was switchable between 16 and 80 channel zones, because of the way the code generates the codeplug binary file data.
This is a legacy from the official CPS on which the Community CPS was based, and it would require a major rewrite of the code to do it differently.
Also moving to a OpenGD77 specific version of the CPS also allows other things to be changed, like the renaming of the "AutoScan" checkboxes etc

Re: OpenGD77 and Community CPS updates
I'll use OpenGD77 CPS then.
Thanks both for yours replies!
