Voice prompts

Re: Voice prompts
I'm sure a lot of things will need to be modified but perhaps in the end it will be OK.OK2HAD wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 6:32 amHi, I registered the morning after waking up. I've already recorded it on the radio and I'm going to test it. I will also contact colleagues and test together. So far, so good. Too bad the Amazon voice synthesis is not Czech. Every language has its own accent and Polish is similar to it, but it will never be perfect. But by correcting the words, I made Polis / Jana speak Czech. Thank you for your work on the whole openGD and I look forward to further cooperation.VK3KYY wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 5:54 amI created the Czech version

Re: Voice prompts
Sal
I will email you versions of both voices (BIianca and Georgo) with the silence remove again, because there was another small problem in my firmware which encodes to AMBE which could also have been causing some problems.
However I think probably that the main problem is the AMBE codec has problems with non-english languages, so I think the 100ms silence is probably necessary even though I fixed the other bug
Re: Voice prompts
I've updated the development release of the firmware so that the Channel Details screen now has voice prompts
https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... /D20200507
Note.
The implementation is not ideal, because we don't have language strings or voice prompts for the large number of acronyms used on this screen, hence For Example the voice prompts "VOX" says the individual letters "V O X" whereas in English, this is normally spoken as a word "Vox" and sounds like "Vocks" (like socks but with a V at the start)
But I can improve this at a later date.
