Feature-Request: 255 "User Power" steps

Post by OE5DMF » Sun Aug 01, 2021 7:58 am

At my investigation about TX Power and calibration is had an idea.

At Radio Power calibration i have to open the calibration screen change the value per frequency and write it to the flash to test is.
and this many many times. This is very time intense procedure. And generates a lot of write cycles to the flash.

What about changing the user power stepts to 16 (DAC-Value)? (right now it is fast 100 and slow 10)
And show it as 0-255 value at the "UserPower" filed as at the calibration screen.

Example: "User P: 1648/103"
Steps slow (Blue+left/right): 16/1
Steps fast (left/right): 160/10

What you can do then is set the radio to +W- and find the correct value fast and for all frequencies and power levels very fast and with just one write cycle to the flash at the end.

Although it is logical when calibrating the power of the radio, I'm certain people would also complain that when they wanted to set a sepecific power level e.g. 600mW that the user interface was wrong because the step size is a strange value (16)

This would need to be a separate function for when calibrating the radio.
