Receiver immune to strong signals. DR-1801 (not DM)

Post by SO5MC » Sat Sep 28, 2024 1:19 am

The receiver of DR-1801 is unlike most Chinese radios not affected by strong signals on other frequencies. It does not loose sensitivity when they are present. The radio can be used with roof antenna in city center and close to FM broadcast transmitters, in locations where most of other Baofeng/Quansheng/Radioditty become dump after connecting an outside antenna.

This is the reason it would be great to get OpenGD into it.

Thats because the DR-1801 is nothing at all like the DM-1801 or the DM-1701 or the GD-77 or the UV-380 or the MD-2017 etc.

The DR-1801 uses a sealed DMR module, which is also used in some mobile phones, and this module contains all transceiver and the microprocessor etc

The only other things on the PCB apart from this module, is the RF PA and the Rx preamps, which need to be physically large as they must have wound coil inductors and strip line PCB tracks etc.
