Hi, all. Have a problem.
How to find out the version of this radio.

S/N on label 2405A00***
Revision 2517, no hardware version anywhere.
Can't find firmware D126.061 too.

CPS shows hardware version V02.06 is that means that i need firmware for V2 ?

Is it possible to upgrade radio to opengd77 and which version of opengd and donor to use ?

All MD9600 use the same donor file

If you don't know how old the radio is, then you will need to try each version of OpenGD77 and see which version works with your radio

The display and controls will work for all radios even if you install the wrong version of OpenGD77, but the radio won't transmit or receive.

If the radio is not new, then its probably a V2 or possibly V1 radio

The only difference between V2 and V1 is the display dimming, and not many V1 radios were manufactured.

If V2 doesn't work, try the other versions

But I don't understand, what can I do if any of them doesn't work ? How can I return current official firmware back ? Where can I get it ?

My brand new MD-9600 - - Serial : 2401A0xxx - 2571 Sticker on side (Whatever that is)
Was loaded with HW V5 firmware, that seems to function well.

I'm quite sure my radio also showed as HW V2.xx , in the original CPS info.
But i think my original version info said it was written w. CP(S) version 1.27.


I was collecting "Original FW" files from here, before the upgrade.

Pay attention to the backups, to be taken immediately after the opengd77 fw has been loaded into the radio.

I used this donor file
Download the Official firmware to act as the "donor" for the DMR codec https://www.passion-radio.com/index.php ... chment=760
Unzip the donor firmware zip file, to extract the donor file MD9600-CSV(2571V5)-V26.45.bin
Note. This file is the same for all MD9600 hardware versions.

That is a V5 radio. The IF filters near the green sticker indicate this. Other versions have a DSP IF chip which doesn't use discrete filters.

Hi all, after update i have 2 problems.

1. Always when i trying to access DMR repeater and getting TIMOUT after 1 second TX.

FREQ, TS and CC is correct. and I can hear tg activity.
FM works fine.
Monitored tx attempts with sdr dongle - TX freq correct and i see some packets transieved on ptt push.

I think that radio calibrations are missed and radio not working fullpower when setting it to 40W. Earlier before upgrade I opened that DMR repeater with 25W on same radio.

Can we use official calibration file (i saved with ctrl-t before upgrading) with opengd firmware or have to calibrate power with power meter manually ?

2. When i try to restore official firmware (to test DMR repeater access on it) i got blank screen radio and no reaction to buttons.

This is not a hardware problem. display works correctly when i writing codeplug or if i return it to opengd firmware.
I think that original firmware can"t start for some reason? maybe using wrong version or doing something wrong?

Radio was restored this way:
- restore flash (i backed up after upgrade to opengd)
- download official firmware with official bootupdata v3.07 (i try : MD9600-REC(2571V4)-D26.57.bin, MD9600-CSV(2571V5)-V26.45.bin)
- write my old codeplug with CPS v1.33

doing something wrong ?
