Installation of New Firmware Stuck

Post by TA2EGG » Tue Jan 28, 2025 10:11 pm

While installing beta version of the firmware my radio is stuck in the flashing screen and in the CPS I see an erasing 0x81-0x82 text however no progress is being made for hours. When I plug it in and pull it out the screen still flashes and no progress is being made after restarting the process.

Reboot the radio and try again

I did unfortunately the radio is stuck in the flashing screen (dfu mode) and can’t seem to get it to boot normally. Even when pulling the power cable out and plugging it back in the flashing screen remains.

I tried to flash the original firmware too but the issue is still present the original firmware loader gives an error saying erase/write problem.

Check you have the correct STM DFU driver installed. Windows 11 installs an incompatible driver

This version is known to work

downloads/drivers/Dfuse_3.0.6_drivers.zip

I am using this exact version of the driver on Windows 10, the device is displayed as STM DFU on the usb list in device manager

Even if the windows driver version looks the same, I recommend you delete the old version and reinstall the version shared by VK3KYY. Although I have the same version installed, for some reason only the driver shared by VK3KYY worked. Finally, make sure you have the latest version of cps installed.

I already did install the drivers from scratch just to be safe but unfortunately nothing changed.

Try restarting loading the official firmware using the official tools

I tried using the UpgradeDownload app to flash the original firmware, however the original firmware could not be flashed with the same erase/write error.

Try a different PC
