Re: Installation of New Firmware Stuck
I was also able to upload opengd77 firmware to a tyt uv390 device so I think the drivers are working
Re: Installation of New Firmware Stuck
If you have errors when using the official firmware and CPS then you probably have a hardware fault in the radio, or the connections to the radio or the powering of the radio etc.TA2EGG wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 7:35 pmSorry for the late reply. This is not an OpenGD77 problem
Re: Installation of New Firmware Stuck
The seller was able to restore the original firmware in Turkish to the device but when I tried to flash OpenGD77 again the same issue happened.
Re: Installation of New Firmware Stuck
Possibly there is something non-standard with your radio.
Or you have some problem on your computer.
Did you ask the seller to install OpenGD77? i.e this will eliminate the possibility that the problem is your computer or PSU etc.
On rare occasions people have bought from suppliers who have custom commercial versions of various radios, and these may have a different bootloader which prevents non-official firmware being loaded.
The only way to install the firmware onto these non-standard radios is to directly connect to the hardware debug port pads on the PCB (SWD), and install a standard bootloader.
However I can only remember 1 person having one of these special radios, and I can't remember if it was a MD9600 /RT90 or a handheld
Re: Installation of New Firmware Stuck
I believe a non-standard bootloader is the issue I am just upset that it used to work when I installed it 2-3 months prior and worked without issue. I searched online for the original bootloader file to no avail do you have access to the bootloader or can you point me to the files. I don't think they will agree to installing OpenGD77 but I will try my luck. Thank you for your support.

What hardware version of MD9600 do you have.TA2EGG wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 6:35 amI believe a non-standard bootloader is the issue I am just upset that it used to work when I installed it 2-3 months prior and worked without issue. I think there may be more than one version of the MD9600, depending on the hardware version, but the OpenGD77CPS works with all normal versions of bootloader regardless of hardware version.
Someone will need to backup the MCU memory in their radio and post the file somewhere, because I don't have access to a MD9600 to do this at the moment
You will also need to open the radio and connect a hardware debugger to the CPU, e.g. a STLink.
Re: Installation of New Firmware Stuck
It says 2311 in it without any VX text so I am assuming its a V5
Re: Installation of New Firmware Stuck
I am really embarrassed, but I wanted to write how I fixed the issue, so people can see this and try what I didn't
I did not have access to another computer to assuming this was a driver issue, I just deleted my disks and reinstalled everything in my mind making it equivalent to another computer as VK3KYY suggested. The issue did not go away and when I talked with the seller on how they managed to fix it they just told me that they flashed the original firmware and it worked. I thought they were not telling me how they did it since the Turkish language firmware is their licensed product and did not want to share the details with me. I decided to get a completely new computer just to try it before sending it in one more time, and it worked. Then I switched the USB port on my computer and it worked. My radio is to the left of my device where there is only a single USB port and since my MD 390 device flashed fine from that port I never tried unplugging and moving the radio to the right-hand side using the other ports.

Thanks for sharing
BTW.
I can't use one of my PCs to install the firmware, because it crashes to blue-screen-of-death
I tried reinstalling the driver and many other things, but it always crashes
