Hard to connect hotspot

Post by IK1HJT » Mon Apr 14, 2025 7:26 pm

Hello,
i own 1 Motorola DM4601, 2 Motorola DP3401, 1 Hytera G36. Then 1 Baofeng DM-1701, 1 Retevis RT-3S and 1 TYT MD-9600, with OpenGD77 installed.
With Motorola and Hytera radios, no problem to hang up my Pi-Star dual hat Hotspot, BER around 05-06%
With Baofeng and Retevis, no problem too, BER around 01-02%. Difference is a matter of frequency tuning in hotspot.
With TYT, i loose 50% of attempt to link my hotspot, with variable BER. Also BER is surprisingly high catching some repeater with full scale signal, but not all.
I finished ideas to how to fix it.

Hi,

i had the some BER problems with low power settings on MD-9600. With 2 or 5 watts it was stable for me (HW rev. 5).

Greetings
Christian

Hi, same HW5, but rising up power doesn't help here. I didn't tested with original firmware, but i suppose that this kind of radio has some problem... :(
