That's a good thing.
If the dealer causes problems and I actually have to change the module, which GPD modules are recommended for replacement?

I found something small here. Is this a suitable GPS module?

It depends what the output data mode has been set to on these modules.

The firmware expects 9600 baud NMEA but some modules output their own binary data format which is incompatible.

The module you linked to looks like a Chinese clone of a U-BLOX NEO 6M, not a real Neo 6M. It may actually be a completely different chipset inside the metal housing.

Most people seem to be using a chinese made GP-01 module either with a antenna on the PCB or an antenna that is connected by a short external cable

Ok I understand.

Is there perhaps a source for this - perhaps with full details of the product name and manufacturer?
If necessary with technical data.

By the way, the manufacturer replied to me.
He also seems to be overwhelmed by my request and hopes that TYT can comment competently on it.
"Hello,
We have reported the problem you encountered directly to TYT and will get back to you as soon as possible with their feedback.".

By the way, I have the same problem with the MD-9600 V4 with GPS and I wanted to ask if I don't remove the GPS and do the soldering according to his instructions VK3KYY will it work the new external GPS ? is there a chance to create a problem in the device because it will have the factory GPS which I have never seen working!!!

I do not understand your question

As long as you connect a GPS which outputs NMEA at the correct speed it will work

Note, some external GPS "Serial" modules from AliExpress etc, which often have a DB9 pin connector, are 12V serial and the data is inverted,. This type does not work with the firmware

A little note from another TYT MD-9600 user: I've noticed my radio doesn't see satellites very well if my computer is turned on (about 18" away.) As soon as I shut it off they pop right up and it gets a fix.

The factory GPS doesn't work that well, and its position inside the display is not ideal
