Re: Dist. Sort
I've come across a few problems with this functionality which is taking a while to iron out.
Hopefully I'll have fixed the problems tomorrow.

Re: Dist. Sort
Happy to report that the Experimental firmware works. For my commute this morning, it is working great. I will observe more as I drive around and will report back.
Update: I’ve driven around like crazy today, and the experimental firmware works very well.

Re: Dist. Sort
Thanks.
I'm glad it's working for you
There are a lot of things which I need to improve with it.
1. Channel reloads unnecessarily , when the same channel is still the closest
2. Distance should update when the radio position changes by more than 100m
3. Distance is currently only displayed when Sorting is enabled. ie the Display options setting seems to be ignored
So I think I may end up rewriting it; retaining the things which work
Re: Dist. Sort
On this one, I don't think it is UNNECESSARILY. Maybe the second or third one have changed position in the sorted list. I think it is great to always have a correct sorting order.
BTW, can I uploaded the modified codeplug to another radio running latest stable firmware?
Re: Dist. Sort
It will always sort the list when your location is greater than 5km etc from when it last sorted the list, so the second and third etc could change position in the list.
But it shouldn't reload the current channel if its not changed, but it does this in the last version I sent you
If you select any of the distance based roaming options, i.e 5km, 10km etc, then it will automatically keep selecting the closest repeater when it resorts.
i.e if you manualy change to the second channel; when it next sorts it will change back to the first channel in the lisy because its closer.
I had a think about whether in either manual or automatic / distance sorting, it should go back to the first channel, but I think this is probably the best options in both manual or auto / distance modes, as currently there is no indication of which position in the list is currently selected.
Re: Dist. Sort
I've uploaded my latest experimental roaming firmware for the MD9600 to here
https://opengd77.com/downloads/MD9600/F ... al/Roaming
Note. You need to use the latest CPS
downloads/PC_CPS/Latest/OpenGD77CPSInst ... .23.01.exe
And you need to go to each channel which has Lat/Lon and tick the new checkbox "Location is valid" to confirm that the value is to be used.
i.e The "Use location" checkbox now means Use when sorting / roaming....
I'll probably need to rename things, after this is all working corectly
