1701 com connection
1701 com connection
Ok guys so here we go. I’ve been all over trying to find a solution to this connection issue. I have the 1701 cable and driver but this will not connect. I’ve tried all the normal fixes and nothing works. It registers to com port 6 but won’t connect to the radio. I’ve been at this for 3 days now and nothing anyone suggests works.
Re: 1701 com connection
But you missed few things, details ![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
What are you trying to do, flashing the firmware, reading the codeplug ?
Windows version ?
Did you installed some drivers, which ones ?
Without details, it's pretty hard to help you.

Re: 1701 com connection
Helping him un fb group says he is using "im use the file with KJM RADIO DFU DRIVER." Doesn't sound right to me ,ill send him the ones from here later unless you can link him to them, win11 trying to program rado read code plug ect
Re: 1701 com connection
So, I'm using windows 10. I can't get it to respond in DFU or program mode. I'm using the driver file mentioned above. I tried to attach pics but says file is too large. I'm using KJM RADIO DFU DRIVER for a driver. This radio came with OPenGD77 already installed. I ordered the cable from Btech and its the one with no chip. I followed several different YouTube videos to no avail. Not sure what eles to do
Re: 1701 com connection
Okay.
No idea what "KJM RADIO DFU DRIVER" is.
First of all, are you sure the cable is the right one, because you have two incompatible models available, where D+/D- are reversed.
When you connect your 1701 to the Windows machine, in "normal" mode, it should list a serial device. If it's in error, there is chances that the cable is the wrong model.
To be sure, you can use a multimeter to check where D+ and D- are connected to the K plug.
Regarding the DFU driver, used only when you're in bootloader mode (to flash the firmware), you should install the dfuse 3.0.6:
downloads/drivers/Dfuse_3.0.6_drivers.zip
Cheers.

Re: 1701 com connection
Can you provide the link to the cable?
This is confusing, Why do you need a driver for the cable? If the computer can see the cable on com 6 without radio attached to it, then you have the wrong cable.
Re: 1701 com connection
He has wrong cable , some cable with a builtin serial chip (FTDI)
Correct cable is passive, radio emulates a serial port in normal mode and as a STM DFU device in DFU mode.
