I wish there was a way to either backup the settings via cps, or perhaps display the non-default ones somehow so we can preserve before flashing.

@SP9RZF idk, that's my default screen for SK1. maybe u'r firmware is too old..
No.

There is no functionality to specifically backup the settings data. This is mainly because as the firmware evolves the setting data format needs to be extended and or modified, so old backups could be incompatible with the firmware version in the radio.

It would be totally impractical for the CPS or firmware to be able to convert between any 2 arbitary settings versions, as there have been many changes to the settings version during the development of the firmware

You can backup the entire Flash and / or EEPROM memory in the radio and restore these, however the same problem applies regarding incompatibility and restoring the entire memory taken from a previous firmware version is likely to cause the firmware to crash.
Also backing up all 16Mb of Flash in the newer radios takes a very very long time, and in come cases the backups or restores can fail due to timeouts if the USB isn't fast enough or you get a power or RF glitch in the USB cable

Please send me your codeplug.

Did you checked the theme color of CSS/SQL text colour ? (I mean, black on black)

Ok, thanks, stupid me... Those colors were the same (black on black). But why did someone do that in this theme, WHY?! ;)

thanks for the clarification. yeah I imagine the conversion to be an unfeasible task. wonder how about the other option, of just highlighting the non-default settings in the menu of the radio? or better yet if possible - display that non-default settings as a list in a separate menu item? not trying to request features, just throwing some useful ideas here :)

In the case you used a pre-made theme, downloaded from the forum, can you tell me which is it (I will fix it) ?
