I made a slight mistake installing my 2nd RT3s. I selected the firmware location - which also updates the radio - prior to putting radio in firmware update mode. It went through the motions of writing the firmware but it didn't work. What transpired? Did I overwrite any other part of memory?

Trying a 2nd time this time putting radio into firmware update mode first, worked. I just didn't expect picking opengd77 firmware file location and update radio was single operation.

No worries, the writing process simply fails, you're safe ;) .

I'm stuck trying to install OpenGD77 on a Retevis RT3S. The standard CPS works fine, but the OpenGD77 CPS can't find the device. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but what could it be? I have successfully used OpenGD77 on a DM-1701 and MD-UV390. Any tips?

Did you put the radio into update mode aka bootloader mode aka DFU ?
Check the windows device manager shows the radio as STM device in DFU mode. If shows something like Digital Radio in update mode, its the wrong driver. Search the forum this has been posted loads of times before.

Everything has been documented in the initial post, viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2380 including where to download the firmware update driver

Its a common problem, which we can't do much about, because I don't think the MCU manufacturer allows their driver to be installed by anyone else's applications.
Windows installs it by default, but Microsoft have 2 different copies of the driver, which are incompatible, and which seem to get installed almost at random. Generally Windows 10 gets the correct driver and Windows 11 gets the incompatible driver

I may be in need of some help. I followed the instructions, but after the flash completes the radio never reboots and the status light blinks red and green. If I reboot the radio manually, the status light still blinks red and green. I've tried to reflash it a few times, and the CSP says its completed successfully, but I still have the same symptoms.

I have a Hardware version 1 TYT MD-380.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The MD-380 is not supported at all, MD-UV380/RT3S are dual bander.

The first couple links from 2 years ago are dead. I'll be attempting install on an RT-3S and trying to gather what's needed. I'll edit later with what I find out.

Please can you give more details.

Are you saying a 2 year old post on this site now has dead links?

Its virtually impossible for us to constantly check for dead links in old posts, or even recent posts.
