That's a police K9! (meaning police dog).
I presumed that the PD sumbol means Police Department, so I'm not sure why people are choosing this as their icon apart from its the first one in the list

The icon of the dog appears to be the receiving station, which is an equally strange choice of icon.

I haven't changed the icon on RT3S yet. The dog's icon is my other mobile APRS gateway, and RT3S uploads location information through this gateway. In short, the APRS running on RT3S is working properly. I wonder if there will be any updates to the APRS message function in the future?

Please describe what message you mean ?

Comment / message text is already sent as part of the normal APRS packet
Status text is not currently sent, becuase this is a separate data packet

Thank you for your reply. What I mean is not to send the message as a comment, but to directly transmit the message through the gateway. Enter a call sign (such as BG4QL-7) at the recipient's location, then enter text information, and then send it again. I don't know if my description is correct, but I found a sample: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/whVSdb_GBdI

At the moment, we can only transmit APRS and not receive it, and although we could send messages, it would not be possible to have a conversation.

Also entering text via the number keypad is not easy, and I doubt many people would use it.

Understood, if you cannot receive APRS data, then sending message is meaningless. Anyway, thank you very much for your contribution to opengd77

We strongly recommend issuing a detailed operation tutorial, from writing frequency to using the operation content, so that HAM can have a comprehensive understanding!
