Too much power

Post by N1LSJ » Sat Oct 28, 2023 1:52 am

Maybe I screwed up by not backing up my radio before I loaded OpenGD77 on it?

I was just measuring its power output and on 5W I get 6.5W, and on +W- I get 7.5W :shock: . I seem to remember there's somewhere you can calibrate it but can't find it right now. I'll keep looking.

I was comparing it to a 4.5W UV-5K into a local repeater and noticed the RT-3S was hitting it way better with much better modulation too :) .

Options -> Calibration.

The +W- is the DAC value, Options -> Radio options -> User Power.

Yeah, found that - looks like a LOT of work. I think I'll just leave "Master" on 3 or 4W and not worry about it :) .
