Post by VK3KYY » Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:11 pm

A new UV-380 / 390 / Retevis RT-3S / DM-1701 is available

downloads/MDUV380_DM1701/Firmware/b7e53 ... 2a657f082a

downloads/MDUV380_DM1701/Firmware/Latest

This version changes the operation of the Last Heard screen

Pressing the Green button changes the TG to the TG of the currently selected line
Pressing SK2 + Green changes the radio to make a private call to the station

Thanks to Daniel F1RMB for this change

Unfortunately, I can't figure out what has changed. SK2=Fn? Is it possible that the description is incorrect?

On the Last heard screen

Previously. Pressing Green set the radio to make a private call to that station in the list

Now...
Pressing Green sets the radio to the TG of that station in the list

To make a private call to someone in the Last Heard list, you now need to use SK2 + Green

Even better, congratulations! You are doing a great job for the entire amateur radio community, you have made these radios perform with functions that no other has, thank you! 73 de I5EKX Alex

Awesome!!!!! Thank you.

BTW, how to update the firmware? Do I need the MD9600 donor again? Any step different than loading OpenGD77 for the first time?

Thank you, you’re awesome!!!!!!

Between yesterday and today there must have been some passages of the ISS with SSTV transmission, apart from the fact that yesterday I tried to receive and they transmitted nothing. The satellite function has voice, APRS and beacons. Would it be possible to use the frequency of 145.800 as a beacon for the ISS? We would have better image reception with the correction of the Doppler effect.

Like all other updates, in this case being a minor update there is no need to update the CPS.

You always need the donor file accessible when doing firmware updates, otherwise the radio will be FM Only.

I moved away the donor in this example:

Once you selected the donor file, keep the file as the same location (do not delete it), the CPS will reuse it for the next updates.
The [ +DMR ] in the window title let you know that the donor file is available, hence no need to re-select it.

Cheers.
