Help on solving a “frozen” radio.
Help on solving a “frozen” radio.
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some help to make my radio work with Open GD 77 again, as it’s “frozen” with a ‘settings updated’ screen.
Here’s what happened after running Open GD77 for a long time without any problems; One day I was listening to some DMR on my TYT MD-UV380, and all off a sudden the radio stopped receiving and showed the ’settings updated’ screen with and ‘OK’ over the green button.
The thing is that no buttons or any thing are working at all now? So I can’t get this screen to go away?
I have tried this to solve the problem:
- reinstalling updated Open GD77, writing the code plug to the radio, as well as satellite data and DMR id’s.
- reinstall older version of Open GD77…
-tried different versions of the CPS as well
-tried the ‘stable’ version with the ‘latest’ CPS
-tried reinstalling my backup flash and original firmware: then everything works fine, with the original firmware (but I am not interested in using that. I like Open GD 77!)
-I have tried charging the radio for 24hours with power on (read somewhere that it could do the trick, because of a lack of internal battery charging over time)… but it did not work in my case.
I really hope that someone can help me with this problem as I can’t come up with any other solutions that the ones I have tried already? -am I missing something?

Re: Help on solving a “frozen” radio.
Hi,
Which version of the OpenGD77 firmware ?
Did you tried to write a newly created codeplug (with only few channels, FM and DMR) ?
Cheers.

Re: Help on solving a “frozen” radio.
Have you tried removing the battery and power on the radio with SK2 pressed?
Re: Help on solving a “frozen” radio.
Ok
But it was some radio model that have a "soft" power switch?
I know that Anytone 878 has such implementation.
Re: Help on solving a “frozen” radio.
I have tried writing a new “empty” code plug, with only my call sign and DMR ID. But no channels.
Re: Help on solving a “frozen” radio.
Okay, that's quite old. You may try the latest version, along with the latest CPS released.
Add few channel, one zone with these channels linked inside, that would be better.
Cheers.
