Is this a brand new radio? the shell of the radio is slightly different, side buttons under PTT are 1 dot and 2 dot on the newest. boafeng firmware mention radioditty version and they are using boafeng cps 1.05

I've searched for DM-1701B on AliExpress and other Chinese sites but can't see any listed
There is also a Retevis verison of the DM-1701 called a RT-82 and that radio looks different to the DM1701 but is the same electronics
It sounds like your version is slighly different electronics etc But the Chinese Ham didn't say anything about the DM1701B not working with OpenGD77
