New beta 2024 04 12 the satellite alarm clock problem.

Post by UB3AYH » Fri Apr 12, 2024 9:41 am

After installing the firmware, I found that both walkie-talkies (Retives & TYT MD-UV 380) hang if I set the satellite alarm (Press SK2 + Green). It is treated only by switching off.

Nope, it's suspended. I think that you need to read the user guide, there is a dedicated section.

Thanks for the reply. I have previously read the guide regarding the satellite section. The function description is specified. The walkie-talkie freezes when you try to turn on the alarm clock.

I just flashed my RT3S with the 2024 04 12 beta release, and it works as expected:
- SK2 + Green to set an alarm on the current Satellite pass, hence it enters in suspend mode, turning off the screen,
- SK2 + PTT to (force) resume from suspend.
I also let the alarm to trigger (the screen turns on and it beeps continuously until a keypress), so that's fine.

Does your keps are up to date ?

Yes everything is updated. I'll make a video about how it happens for me.

Okay.
Just to be sure, have you tried to reset the settings (sometimes it helps, SK2 + Power On).

Also, what kind of setting changes do you made (to try to reproduce in the same condition here).

Good afternoon, everyone! You were right, the radio is working properly. After setting the alarm of the satellites, the radio goes into standby mode and completely turns off the backlight of the screen. All functions become unavailable until you exit the alarm mode (SK2 + PTT buttons on MD-UV380 | RT-3S) - I did not try to do this. I was confused that the radio did not respond to button presses and I thought it was stuck. On RT-3S for factory firmware, I did so that the backlight of the screen does not go out completely, now my modification still does not allow the screen to go out completely, even on your firmware. That's why I saw that I was in standby mode on the screen. The time before the satellite appears stops because of this, I thought that both radios were hanging up. I admit, I didn't know about canceling the alarm clock (SK2 + PTT buttons) until you wrote yesterday, now I tried and it worked. Once again, I'm sorry that I didn't figure it out completely and inattentively studied the manual.
