Updated localisation files 2024 01 04

Localisation files for the on-screen texts and also the voice prompts have been updated

downloads/localisation/onscreen_texts/

downloads/localisation/voice_prompt_texts/

I would like to thank the people who have updated the translations for their languages.

However there are many languages where the translators have not posted updates :-(

I will attempt to email the last know translator for languages which are not up to date, however its possible that we will need new translators for some languages, or else we may need to resort to using Google Translate.
However Google Translate is a bad option, because it does not understand Ham radio terminology very well, and also it does not have options to create concise or abbreviated text, which is needed because of the limited screen size on all radios.

I will be contacting all translators via email asking them to check and update their translations if possible, however there are several people I do not have email addresses for.

Dutch translation - ON7LDS
Hungarian - Translator is listed as FEBE but the forum does not have an account for FEBE, possibly becasue it got accidentally deleted as a bot account
Solvenian - No translator listed in the on-screen text file

Edit.

I have now uploaded the latest CPS translation xml files to

downloads/localisation/CPS

As well as updating the on-screen texts and voice prompts files which have been kindly processed by Daniel F1RMB with the latest changes sent by serveral translators.

Please can all translators review the translation file, because I think many languages are not fully translated or not translated at all.

I also noticed that the CPS is not translated into all languages that the firmware and voice prompts have been translated into, e.g. Dutch and Hungarian etc are missing :-(

I only have a DM-1801 type radio.
I will not be able to check more parts of the picture
So, then it is possible that I ask for help.

Thank you for your hard work everyone!
Fantastic!

Happy New Year to everyone!

Hello,
I have translated the big missing portion of Czech CPS XML, hopefully I did not skip anything. Attached is the file with translation based on present Czech.xml and English.xml (which, BTW have two duplicate sections for PasswordForm and English also has for Utils section).

EDIT: (broken because of Firefox download of original XML file, removed from here)

But I found out that some labels probably did not make it to the XML files, I have tried to include the translations in comments there as I do not know of a way to identify the labels. These are in the DMR contacts part, theme editor, calibration screen, contacts import screen and the DMR ID label in Channel/VFOs screens.

What I cannot translate:
  • VFOs menuitem (probably just VFO in my case)
  • Daytime Day/Night group items in theme editor (I found out the group label ID which I have translated but is missing elsewhere)
  • OpenGD-77 - Channel TS Override block in contact editor and the lookup ID button there (screenshot attached)
  • Headers of imported CSV contacts and some entries there as well (Write parameters) (screenshot attached)
  • Calibration dialog and its associated messages

As I can only include 3 files, I chose the screenshots for most common screens.

Hi Pavel,

What kind of XML editor are you using ?
I mean, it totally changed the file formatting, plus it removed the utf-8 BOM (the latter is easily fixable).

Cheers.

Are you sure? I have just edited the downloaded Czech.xml file in Gedit/VIM and the formatting should be the same as for English.xml (I am actually using vimdiff to compare them all the time). At one moment extra tab happened in first ~500 lines, but I have fixed it. Plus the <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> is in the downloaded ZIP file when I extract it, if you mean that?

Oh yes I am, I just spend an half of hour to hack the file(s)/diff etc ;-)

All the tag closing where changed (from ' />' to '/>'), hence it became a 99% diff. And the 3 bytes BOM (something that edtor hides) were cleared.
I think I have something working now.

Can you check this file (I mean, using it in the CPS) ? My Czech is quite bad ;)

OK, I will try to fix it locally. I think what happened was I have downloaded the original files in Firefox and it changed the formatting before I started editing. But I should be able to fix it myself faster hopefully, it is my fault, I did not expect that, do not bother yourself with it.
