DM-1701 Promiscuous Mode

Post by W7ML » Thu Jan 09, 2025 3:34 am

I am delayed upgrading to OpenGD77 firmware until the power is more stable here in Los Angeles.

In the meantime, can someone instruct me on how to toggle Promiscuous Mode on the out of box DM-1701?

Thank you.

That doesn’t seem to work for me. I tried both buttons below the push to talk button. It’s a different radio in the video.

ofc is a different radio but similar UI, so the video is just for reference only, which is basically push the monitor button in digital mode.

anyway better promiscuos mode is with OpenGD77 and power issues during installing or upgrading Opengd77 is not something critical, you can use a laptop/notebook to avoid that, and if it fails you can try again, your radio will not be damaged.

Good point! I AM using my 2018 Intel MacBook Pro with Windows 10 in Parallels, because I ran into USB driver problems on my alternate Windows 11 computer.

Thank you!
