I have just been in touch with the keeper for GB7NS and he says that the internet connection is down at the moment due to 3G being switched off in the area. So that means the Echo back won't work as it needs the internet connection. He hopes to switch to a 4G router soon.

It therefore sounds like you are able to use GB7NS but at the moment you will only be able to talk to local users so there will not be much activity.

Hi All,

I have setup a Pistar MMDVM and programmed the codeplug with the hotspots frequency. The dashboard on the hotspot displays the transmission I have made to the parrot but I still get no audio.

Maybe the radio is faulty.

Edit: Thanks Colin for taking the time to contact GB7NS keeper for me. I have also tried to listen in on G7NS, but I havent got any audio.

Thanks,
Ram

I see that the DMR net is yellow, should be green.
Usually this is because you have not created your brandmeister secret and inserted that in the pistar config.

Additionally you can generate a Brandmeister api key that can be used for self-service from pistar.

Private Call to 9990 should be used to parrot (unless you know the mapping to the nearest parrot) all BM servers map 9990 to parrot.
In the past you could activate a talk group 9990 if you didn't use private call but at least in Sweden master that is also mapped to parrot.

Hi All,

Have got it working now. I entered the hotspot password and it started working. :)
Thanks and appreciate all your help.

I have created the Hotspot security but forgot to enter it after I restarted the hotspot also created the API and installed it.

Thanks,
Ram

Here it's PC 509990, unless he uses DMGateway (whish PiStar isn't using by default), and create a rewriting rule, that won't work either.
Is it the case here ?

Cheers.

Great, I see your Hotspot on brandmeister now.

The learning curve for digital amateur radio can be quite complicated.

When I got my Icom Dstar radio more than teen years ago I never got it to work on digital.
It was first when I started playing around with hotspots 2019 that I managed to make a qso on dstar.

I cannot connect to the Bromley/Beckenham repeaters either and i live within about a mile of them. Can't connect through the web via DMR network and never been able to connect via echolink either. Its like they don't exist but i know they do.
