DM-1701 color issues
DM-1701 color issues
Hi,
I have a strange color issue with a new DM-1701.
The colors in the actual display are different then what is setup in the CPS.
But if I do a screengrab from the CPS, it looks fine: On the radio it looks like this: It looks like red is blue and vice versa, cyan is yellow, etc.
This is how the display looks in inverted mode:

Hi,
Ah, another DM-1701 with RGB screen (I guess).
Cheers.

Re: DM-1701 color issues
I saw a similar thread, with this radio having strange colors, but I can't find it again.
So is this a known issue? This radio is sold with different screens?

Re: DM-1701 color issues
It seems Baofeng has fitted some RGB LCD panels (until lately, it was BGR only).
Expect to be asked to run some tests.

I think, but you will spend quite some time doing this, and won't be able to share your theme.
A proper fix/detection has to be made.

Re: DM-1701 color issues
I believe mine came with a RGB panel too. All colors that I set on the CPS appear totally different on my radio.
I set the colors directly on the radio, going via options - theme options on the menu and rotating the knob until i got the ones I like. It takes longer, but gets the job done.

Re: DM-1701 color issues
Hi,
But when the blue and red are inverted on screen, it's a different story, that simply means the colour byte order is inverted.
DM-1701 was known to use BGR screens, but it seems some RGB equipied device have popped out.
ATM we are busy on other stuff, but that problem is the next one on (me) todo list.
Cheers.
