Diagram of DM-1701

Post by SO5AJG » Thu Sep 21, 2023 7:51 pm

I am looking for a diagram for DM-1701 or its equivalent, because I have the impression that there is a hardware failure. After the first upgrade, still with the original firmware, the radio stopped transmitting and receiving on the set frequencies. I made various attempts with no success. Now, after changing the software to OpenGD77, nothing has changed either. I'm trying to look for the problem in the electronics itself, but I can't do anything without a diagram.

As far as I see, it neither works with original FW...

... may I suggest to contact the seller and proceed to replace it?

Just a thought.

The radio was bought at least 3 years ago and not by me, so contact with the seller is impossible. All you have to do is try on your own. That's why I'm looking for the same radio, but with factory F/W, maybe it could be copied from flash memory and uploaded to the damaged one.

I see my last post has disappeared...

I'll redo it.

You only need to reload the original FW by using the original tools and files.

They all are available in here:
https://dm-1701.s3.amazonaws.com/DM-170 ... V02.03.zip

It should work if problem is software related.

BTW you don't need to read anything from another unit (but calibration if get corrupted)

God luck !!

After connecting to the computer, the radio is visible in the device manager, but the factory CPS does not see it. CPS OpenGD77 obviously sees the radio. In this situation, it is not possible to upload the factory firmware. When asked about the possibility of returning to the factory F/W, the seller stated that the technicians confirmed that this was not possible. I think somewhere on the forum Roger confirmed that for this change you need an old backup uploaded before the change to OpenGD77. I also don't see a way to make this backward movement from F/W to the factory version.

YES IT IS POSSIBLE.

You must set it in DFU mode (firmware update) and proceed...

I managed to set the DFU mode to upload the old F/W, but to upload the old codeplug it asks for a password and now I don't know what it is.
