BTW

Does anyone have a link to the latest MD-2017 official firmware, either the TYT or Retevis version, i.e RT-84

Retevis seems to have removed the downloads for the RT-84 from their website and I can't find a copy elsewhere
Noticed now that you probably mixed the Retevis names, I guess you really wanted RT82 which use the same hardware as MD-2017

This was for RT84 = DM-1701
I have some here:

2.03 was the latest FW I found then, the 1.05 zip is the CPS.

Thanks. I'll download them later

Hi,

on Passion-Radio's website, in the CPS archive you have v4.15 and v4.17 firmwares:
https://www.passion-radio.com/tytera/md2017-506.html

Cheers.

I'm not sure if the radio I received is new, becuase I think the battery was already fitted to the radio, when its not supposed to be, and also the box was definitely opened by the vendor as its got a mains plug converter to Australian standard which would not normally be in the box.
Also the charger was not in in a plastic bag and I found a plastic bag under all the other plastic packaging

Posisbly the vendor wanted to test the charger and the radio before they sent it and forgot to put the cable back in the box.
I have noticed that in several cases, the battery was removed from the bag and then fitted to the radio before shipping. I think this is their way to bypass the "no battery in courier transportation" policy by the couriers or regulators. I even bought a radio battery alone from China, and they shipped the battery with a not-new-random-radio-front-case together as if it's one-piece, likely for the same reason, and that was hilarious.

The accessory connector might be the same as one of the Motorola (Radius series) radio, but my memory isn't very clear on that now. If so, then there might be other means to get parts to DIY cables and accessories for this model.

Thanks

I already made a cable by modifying a cable from a Radioddity GD55Plus
