Post by W7ML » Sat Mar 16, 2024 5:30 pm

Is there any work being done to port OpenGD77 to the RadioddyDB25-D? Thank you.

No

It looks like the other new radios which use the Chinese made C7000 CPU for which there is no publically available compiler or SDK

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I will keep my DM-5R handy for OpenGD77 use as needed then.

DM-5R V1 aka DM-5R Tier 1 is unlikely ever to be supported because it uses and older DMR chip.

DM-5R V2 aka DM-5R Tier 2, already supported

We are unlikely to ever support the Tier 1 radio, becasue all new works is to support newer radios e.g. the MD-UV380 Plus, 5W and also 10W versions

Yes, and this forum has provided me the basis to understand and use my DM-5R Tier 2 HT with OpenGD77!

Thank you again!

Yes.

The firmware will work with that radio

Use the RD-5R firmware, as its the same hardware in your radio; its just the case thats slightly different
