This Baofeng radio has an issue with its transmit audio and am wondering where I can get more recent firmware. Apart from this background noise, the radio works and is usable.

I know it has the A6 chip which i know is not supported. I just want to fix this noise issue to make it usable
and not just a receiver. As yet I have had no success in locating anything other than some old files.

AFIK. This radio uses a DMR radio module rather than separate CPU etc.

I don't think Baofeng every published any updated firmware for this radio or any application/tool to upload firmware to this radio.

Possibly because the radio uses a module, which connects to the outside world via an old fashioned serial cable, the module may not support being updated at all
