been doing some messing.

it would appear that the buzzing appears if the screen brightness is anything other that 100%, however, when the screen is at 100% the buzzing is replaced with a high pitched tone.

With the screen at less than 100% the buzzing is there until the screen goes off. When at 100% the high pitched tone is there and reduces when the screen goes off, but is still audible.

I don't think anyone else has this problem, hence it may be specific to you own radio

How old is the radio?

Not sure on the age, I will try on a different radio and see if it is still present. definitely when the backlight is on, but wasn't there in the original firmware.

i will get it back to stock and see if its still present

The official firmware does not support dimming of the display. What you are hearing is probably an artifact of the PWM used for the dimming

But AFIK no one else's radio has this artifact
