Post by VK3KYY » Fri Apr 12, 2024 10:41 am

A new Alpha version is available for the MD-2017/RT-82

downloads/MD2017/Firmware/0f43e6cdffe5c ... c815dbb341

This version ...

* Fixes audio problems
* CSS bugs
* QSO info and notification display problem
* Updates to language translations

Thanks to Daniel F1RMB for fixing all of these problems, also thanks to the various translators

With this version I have problems using dual slot DMR.

On an MMDVM duplex DMR hotspot I always activate TS1 even if I select the channel to use TS2. I also have another channel for the same hotspot but with TS1 enabled, that works on TS1. Frequencies for hotspot are 439MHz on RX and 430MHz on TX.
This behavior is not reproducible on simplex hotspots.

EDIT:
I figured it out, it was because * was pressed, the TS got "fixed" no mater if I changed the channel or rebooted the handy. There was no indication o screen that the TS was different than the TS of the channel.

On simplex DMR there is only one TS so it doesn't matter which number you set.

Go to Options -> Display options -> and set Info to TS or Both. So, if you override the TS (using '*' key), the TS will be displayed using a bold font.
Also, the dispayed TS (in the header bar), displays the TX Timeslot.

Should it not reset to what the channel is set to if I change the channel or turn off then on the device ?

No. Long press star key clears the override. I suggest you to read the user guide.

Hello all that OpenGD77 Team,

Just to let you know the following issue.

I've got a Retevis RT-82 and I've loaded both versions of firmware:

This one (latest):

downloads/MD2017/Firmware/0f43e6cdffe5c ... c815dbb341

Does have an audio problem.

The previous one:

downloads/MD2017/Firmware/049e598c09c24 ... d1eb07016/

Is working just fine.

The audio problem is that the speaker - either via the Internal or via a SpeakerMic - stops working a minute or so after power on. I've consulted thoroughly the manual but did not found any speaker time out parameter. Also it happens in both DMR or FM, in Double Watch or simple VFO mode.

I can not emphasize enough how grateful I am for the brilliant work the team as done: My Retevis is now a completely new radio. Bought it 2nd hand in early 2018 and with this firmware the possibilities are incredible wider than with the original Firmware. THANK YOU!

All best from IM58 and 73,

Antonio Cochicho

I have a Retevis RT-82 running with 20240412 firmware and I have not detected any audio problem.

What ECO level do you use ?

I do have another problem with audio level in FM mode as it's much weaker than before.

Yes, there is a known bug which got fixed.
Send me an email, telling me your radio model, I will send you a fixed firmware.

Cheers.

Hello again,

@SA0BUX

I'm sorry: ECO Level ? I'll check the manual ASAP.

@F1RMB

I've sent you an email with a photo of the back of the radio (without batery): S/N 1705RT821101869

Thank you both for your swift answer.

Best regards and 73,
