Re: TYT MD2017 / Retevis RT-82 Public Alpha version

Password is the release version. Rxxxx.xx.xx.xx
It is displayed in the title line at the top of the password entry form.

Guys
I'm not going to be able to resolve the problem of the radios with non-functioning keyboards myself, becuase I don't own one of these variants of radios and I think only about 5% of radios exhibit this problem.
The only think I can do is supply tools for people to attemp to debug this themselves
So unless someone with a lot of electronics knowledge owns one of that type of radios, I can't see how this problem could be resolved
i.e The keypad is connected by 8 wires to the CPU in the normal Row/Column matrix
Each row is energized and all the columns are read to see if there is a connection between the row signal and the column output.
However, to complicate things, the display is connected to the same pins, so the keypad must be read between each screen update
I can produce a version of the firmware which has a function to disable the display so that the individial pins / signals from the CPU can be written and then read , but anyone who wants to investigate this, must have an understanding of this sort of thing

I need to change E to O and I don't see a way, and to modify the power without entering channel data I can't find how to do it either. For the rest perfect, my model is with GPS.

Tnx for your effort¡¡¡¡ I've got a RT-82 'in the trash' and with that I can let it like my GD-77 with opengd77 firmw..... I was expecting it since years.... Thanks¡¡¡¡ My RT-82 has GPS..

Good afternoon. Station RT82_gps installed the latest firmware. Works great. But there are nuances. Trackball doesn't work. I can’t switch the power, it’s 1 watt after the firmware. Group quick entry button enables dtmf
Re: TYT MD2017 / Retevis RT-82 Public Alpha version
Trackball is not supported, use P1 P2 and Up Down buttons on side of radio
I am unable to write code for the trackball because my trackball is broken completely
Re: TYT MD2017 / Retevis RT-82 Public Alpha version
Yesterday afternoon I installed firmw on my RT82_gps and works fine the few things I checked.
About GPS. I was searching the installed module (JumpStar JS-M710) and it has same pinout that gp-02 module. That one is installed as mod in walkies that haven't gps module. If it has better performances it would be interesting change it......

Very interesting
I may open my MD-2017 again to and replace the Jumpstar, because it only receives American GPS satellites, but the GP-02 receives also Chinese Beidou and Russian GLONASS satellites.
I never saw any GLONASS satellites when I tested my GP-02 module, but because Australia is in the same part of the world as China there are often many Beidou satellites visible
