just got a 2nd uv390, and it goes black or white screen depending on 5 watt or 10 watt ver of firmware, but never a valid sccreen. Tried older formware.

newiest CPS and 1-19-25 firmware..


maybe a slight version upgrade on the radio.... ;-(

Okay. First thing first, do not crosspost (I deleted your other identical posts).

Then, what is the model exact of the radio (check the sticker under the battery).
We're not aware of another iteration of the MD-UV390.
Have you followed the flashing procedure ? viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2380
What are the firmware and CPS versions used ?

Yes I followed the post, and again I did a radio a month ago no problem, 2nd unit trying to come in service.

first tried this

and the 10w one turn the screen black.

also tried the neweer beta versions. same result.

Why flashing the 10W firmware on non 10W radio ?
Also, you're using a CPS that doesn't match the FW version (CPS >= 2025/01/19 needs a FW >= 2025/01/19).

You didn't mentionned if you followed the installation procedure (like flashing a codeplug after the first firmware installation.

Did you tried to flash the manufacturer's FW to check if the radio works.

I tried the 10w becouse there is a 'Plus" sticker on the back of the radio, even though no mention of 10w on the specs.

I also tried the 1-19-25 firmware from the proton drive...with the same cps, same result, white screen.

Okay.
So, follow the flash procedure (again). You have the post I linked and many Youtube video about that.
Once the firmware is flashed, turn the transceiver off, press and hold the SK1 + 0 keys then power up the radio.
Report if you get the SAFE BOOT mode screen.

reflashed-119 with 1-19 cps. loaded a coad plug, turned off.

held SK1 + 0 while powering on just gives the white screen

using the same cps, same firmware, same cable..... I just flashed my 1 month older uv390 with 1.19, and it all works perfect

new radio , just white screen. I have not reloaded factory. but factory worked before I started tonight with gd77

Then check with the manufacturer firmware first.

I have not yet found a factory version that resores the screen. I thried a few.

The gd77 firmware is working, I can hear dmr being decoded, plays startup melody, etc,...
