S-Meter / RSSI on main display (permanent view)

Post by DL4GG » Tue Dec 17, 2024 11:46 pm

Dear opengd77 community,

first of all big thanks for the whole fantastic work !!!!!
Impressive.
I'm so happy with all the development for my GD-77 and RD-5R.
It's great that there is a wider support range although for the other devices like the mobile radios and other handhelds.
My friends use Anytone and a lot of of them the opengd77 on Radioditty and Baofeng on their devices.

There is only one little thing that is missed:
*feature request mode: on*

Might it to be possible to get the S-Meter/RSSI bar on the main display ? I know it's in the menu tree and I'm happy to have it.
It would be better for the practical usage if it could be displayed on the main display permanently. So you need not to switch to menu and RSSI submenu to look for the signal.
Or is this not possible?
If you have time ..... this is a feature proposal and perhaps other users would be happy with this main display S-Meter/RSSI feature.

Thanks for all
Best regards

There is already a signal strength bar always shown on the display. Just under the top status line. The same bar is used when transmitting to show the modulation level.

It would be interesting if the top part where the S-meter is displayed also had double the height in the characters, similar to the recently added text.
My eyes would appreciate it.
