This has now been implemented in the "Monitor mode" functionality, press and hold button SK2 (Blue)

Thanks Roger.

BTW, I just re-read my own post, and I mistyped, I meant that we don't need to implement the opening up in analog open squelch while in DMR mode, because no other radios do this anyway. (However, it'll be cool of course).
The main reason monitor mode works like this, is for people who tune to a frequency, or I suppose a channel, in DMR mode, and the green LED comes on, but they can't hear anything.

The reason they can't hear the traffic could be that they've set a TG or TS filter, or the CC is different, or it could be that the transmission is not DMR at all, in which case the radio needs to switch to FM.

On FM, monitor mode has to disable the CTCSS and also open the squelch, so when the radio switches to FM in monitor mode it seems logical to also do the same thing
