Squelch contain hysteresis?

Post by Fecskebeka » Sat Sep 18, 2021 9:33 am

Hello!
FM VHF UHF noise lock setting.
Does Squelch contain hysteresis?
A nearby fluctuating signal will quickly cause an annoying disconnection.
Maybe a small increase in delay or more hysteresis would help.
If you already have such a cool level measurement! :)

(It's a shame there is only tape in the main window.% Doesn't appear for Squelch. I can't compare it to what I see in the internal menu.)

Thanks.
Good weekend!

Hi,

I'm using this right now.
releases/R2021071101
DM1801 16:57:38 Jul 11 2121 built

Has the noise barrier and level setting code changed? And sound treatment
PublicBeta_20210914
firmware release

In the Release version, FM mode
near noise lock level, the reception works awkwardly.
It either breaks or doesn't open.
If I take the level down I unlock it, but it distorts a lot. (Left arrow)
By opening the side manual noise barrier, the RSSI signal level is higher. Although the broadcast is quiet, you can hear clear sound.
But 2% is distorted when opened, but it sounds different.

Roof antenna
I was able to receive a stable weak remote radio signal.
The other radios in the family behave similarly. Maybe DM1801 type disease?

I have a video. If interesting I will send it in person for sharing.
Large file. And I'm not talking. I don’t want to put the recording in front of a big community.

Best regards!
Zsolt

Hi,

It seems the transmission you're listening to is 25kHz, not 12.5kHz, as you notice in monitor mode (which uses 25kHz).

Cheers.

Hi,

I understand the train of thought.
But still, low (remote) modulation is distorted, while loud (near-transmission) is not.

The radio is actually set to 12.5kHz. Next time I will try to capture it again and switch to 25kHz bandwidth as well.

That's why it's weird. And that doesn’t even open up to wider modulation with wider bandwidth. Yet amplitude can probably not be bad listening to it.

I have another Baofeng type, I will try it in RX reception as well.
Unfortunately, that type is also DSP system.

It may not be a mistake. But rather I indicated. It’s annoying that the speech is clear, not even open correctly with the low-level noise.

Good evening!

Listening to the videos it sounds like the signal you are trying to receive is not in the center of the channel. It may have a half channel offset. So when set to narrow bandwidth it is outside your filter. Switching to wide filtering allows the signal through. Are you sure you have programmed the frequency correctly?

Try using VFO mode with the smallest step size and tune for the best signal.

Hi Colin!

This is also a good idea! Thanks!
My radio is set to a standard PMR frequency.
It is even possible that the received radio may be set to a rounded frequency. Unfortunately, many do not tune to the standard frequency and use a wide modulation mode. Several radios, older ones, can't even work differently.
Yes, that could really be a reason.
If this is really the problem, apologize for the suspected problem!
These are the delicacies I have to learn. :)

I'll try to catch him again!

Have a nice evening too!

The PMR446 channels are 12.5KHz spacing but they have a 6.25KHz offset.
So if someone is using a radio that only does 12.5KHz steps they will be half a channel off frequency.
With a wide filter that is not too much of a problem, but with a narrow filter you could see the problem you have observed.

Hi

I still managed to hear my former radio colleague today.
I didn't have time to talk to him unfortunately.
But I quickly tuned the radio.
And I switched to wideband as well

PMR 13 446.15625MHz
instead
446.16000MHz is the received signal.
:)

And it can really be broadband.
But switching to monitor mode was still sometimes sharp, but usually normal.

The biggest mistake was that I didn’t expect an inaccurate carrier frequency.
Broadband even bothered him even more.

There's the red dot for both of you! :)
Thanks

Maybe analog radio would behave nicer. But it wouldn't know many other features.
Or expensive digital radio .... :)

I couldn’t try the other Baofeng radio right now.
I suspect it behaves similarly

Good evening!

I read the beta thread. And I think most people want to help. Everyone in their own way as they can. Some just criticize.
But it can also be positive in that critique. Feel that way! Because you all do super things! Endurance! Patience! :)
And again, we thank you all again!
