Hi,
I can't remember anyone tried on the RD-5R, but there is no reason that doesn't work, as long as the flash chip is supported by the firmware.

Hi, I've got 25Q128FVSG from amazon.com and ready to dive in. Just wanna confirm the procedure. This is what I will do
1.Backup Flash
2.Backup Register
3.remove the original chip and replace with the new 25Q128FVSG
4 Restore Flash
5.Restore Register
Do I miss anything?

There is no secure registers on RD-5R.
