GD-77 maximum charge 88% ?

Post by F5THL » Sun Mar 13, 2022 5:09 pm

Just a question.

I did the latest firmware update for my GD-77 and put my device on charge. It seems to me that it does not exceed 88% charge. I don't have this problem with my DM-1801 which happens to him at 100%?

Could this be the update? I don't think so since I did the same update with my DM-1801 who doesn't have this problem?

Thank you

Daniel

What charger are you using? If it's the stock GD77 charger they wildly vary from 8.2v to 8.6v (!), which is why a lot of people switch out the guts for TP5100's.

Good evening,

Thank you for the answer. I use the original charger. What is the TP5100, is it a battery charger?

You can also calibrate your battery level:

Bonjour,

Hello

I'm wondering if the battery indicator could be adjusted. This actually never shows 100% when the battery is charged (always between 77-88%).
As I understand it, 100% is achieved at around 8.1v battery voltage.
However, since the radios have 7.4 Volt batteries installed, the display is not correct (6.8v=0% / 7.5v=55% / 8.1v=100%).
Couldn't you set the display so that 100% is always displayed at 7.5 volts and higher?
I find this more logical and actually correctly indicates the battery status of a 7.4 volt battery.

Greeting
Rene

You have a Battery Calibration adjustement in the General Options.

Cheers.
