GD-77 belly up..
Re: GD-77 belly up..
Read this: CAL DATA ERROR and No com port Close and reopen... error messages, then act accordingly.
Re: GD-77 belly up..
If you want to go back to the official firmware you need to use the official firmware loader and firmware image both downloaded from radioddity. You must already have both of these as you say that you updated the radio at the beginning of your post.
The OpenGD77 CPS cannot be used to do this, it can only load the OpenGD77 firmware.
The Cal data error reported by OpenGD77 is caused by a corrupted calibration table. This is known to sometimes happen when loading the official firmware and is nothing to do with OpenGD77. The symptoms you describe before you loaded OpenGD77 indicate that this was your original problem.
If you email me at g4eml@gb3gf.co.uk I can send you a special version of the OpenGD77 firmware that will ignore the calibration error. Your radio will still not work but it will allow you to download a calibration file from another radio which will probably be close enough.
