OpenGD77

Hi All, I have just update my GD77 and RD-5R to the new 2025-01-30 firmware (1701 and MD-9600 are next in line).

One of the new feature is the "Last Talker" As I understand this will enable the last callsign received to be displayed alternative ly with the talk group (first line on the display). I have found this information to be useless. While the callsign is alternate with the talk group I have no idea which talkgroup the radio have heard him. I ended up have to go into Last heard screen to see where was he being heard anyway.

So, my question is. How are you guys using this feature? Is this feature helping? What Am I missing?

If you don't like it, don't enable it.
You can have details about TG on the last heard screen.

RR, Daniel. I totally understand that. I love features and options and trying to get the most out of them. I'm creating this thread just to get more opinions from the people who do use this feature. Trying to understand how are they using it and how to make the most out of it on my situation.

Mostly, you let your transceiver in a room because, doing something else in another room, then come back because you heard someone talked. You can quickly know who it was if the QRG became silent.
