Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
I have an Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
I bought it in Sep-2018.
Has anyone tried OpenGD77 on that model ??
Btw: For Codeplug editor under linux (MD-UV380) i used this one (Go binary - x64 only)
Well i haven't used since 2019 - But it has source code ...
Codeplug editor Linux
https://www.farnsworth.org/dale/codeplug/editcp/
https://github.com/dalefarnsworth-dmr/editcp.git
It's was working fine for the "Stock FW"
But i suppose the GD77 Codeplug format is different from the "stock" ... Correct ?

Re: Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
If it's a 100% rebrand, would it be correct to assume it has identical HW.
And the "Anysecu logo etc" is stored somewhere in a "Brand/ID section" on the radio ?
Meaning the fw would be the same ?
Does the "updater" check for some kind of radio model response, meaning if my model is reporting Anysecu DM-UV450 back.
Then an update would be rejected as "Bad radio ID" ??
Edit:
This is a linux bless view from the : DM-UV450 Setup v1.03.exe (Codeplug editor) i got from the dealer where i bought it. I have never used it, as i used the linux cp editor from above.
But it has a lot of "TYT" & "MD-UV380" in it
The exe sha256 sum is here

Hi,
I found one post on eevblog forum where a guy wrote that transceiver is a rebranded MD-UV380.
If you have an original firmware, you can try, as you could still revert.
Cheers.

Re: Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
I never got any firmware for it, and Anysecu support dor that model seems "gone"
And have never tried to upload a MD-UV380 FW ... yet
I just pulled out my Win10 PC , and will try the Windows Codeplug editor.
Then at least i should be able to save the CAL settings i think.
Wasn't that Ctrl+T in the CP editor ??

I guess, but I never used the original CPS.
Re: Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
I just installed the "Win Usb driver i got from he dealer" - ST DFUSE 3.03
The W10 has to reboot soon Winupdate ....
After that i'll try to connect the Anysecu to the W10 machine , and start the CPE
I'll snap a few pics ....
But does the FW updater check for a model response from the radio before updating ??
Does the original TYT Updater ?
Does the GD77 Updater ??
I might try to update either to a MD-UV380 FW
Or maybe even better to a GD77 Wasn't there someting with a "full flash backup" you could make as "Step2" when installing GD77

Re: Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
You can't flash the OpenGD77 firmware with any other tool than the one we're providing (CPS (Windows onyl) or the python script).
It's not possible to make a backup of the MCU without flashing the OpenGD77 firmware first, hence no more genuine firmware.
It's not possible to get radio model while in bootloader mode. Simply, if you flash the wrong firmware, it will remain in bootloader mode (with Red/Green leds flashing).
The Flash backup feature is for the external flash chip, not the MCU. But you need to make a backup after you get the firmware installed, because there are few sensitive data that you maybe need in the futur (like if you want to get back to manufacturer firmware).
Also, make a backup of the calibration (same window in the OpenGD77 CPS).

Re: Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
Ahh yea ... The F405 would be in DFU mode , and run some "ROM DFU loader"
I'm rebooting W10 now , after that I'll try the W10 CPE - Just to see if it connects.
I haven't used that radio in 5 years (blush) ...
I suppose the Win CPE will connect to the radio in "Normal mode" , as a USB host .. Correct ?
Do you remember the sequence to put a MD-UV380 in DFU mode ?
Or do i have to look it up ?
Btw: Thanx for helping out here ...
Would you suggest going for a "stock" MD-UV380 fw update first ?
Or "just bite the bullet" and go for GD77 (As it has the External flash backup) ?

Re: Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
Press PTT and the key above it, then power on.
Well, depends if you like adventures
You can try the MD-UV380 FW first, if you want.
Personnaly I can't stand the manufacturer FW and I would go straight to something a bit better
BTW, if you're going to flash under Windows, you need to use a specific DFU driver (there are few threads about it, and download links, like this one viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3920&p=30406&hilit=dfu#p30406).

Re: Anysecu DM-UV-450 - It should be a rebranded MD-UV380
I tried the "seller's dfu driver" st3.03 didn't work
Then i tried the 3.06 i got of the forum ... worked
I got the seller CPE to load the data from the radio under WIN10.
I also made a CTRL+T , and saved the "Caldata"
Strange when reading via the TYT CPE it crached once , and else when reading , i have to press OK ... I even think twice.
Well W10 is talking to the radio now.
Also read the CPE from linux , using the latest "GO" CPE from above.
