I tried upgrading my PiStar nodes to R4.1.2 this evening. The node that operates my OpenGD77 hotspot worked fine, but the nodes that use MMDVM Hotspot Hats (simplex and duplex) both failed to initialize communication to the MMDVM board. These are packaged JumboSpot hotspots.
The problem appears to be something that was done when Raspian was updated to include support for a GPS node on a hat GPIO interface.
I had to rebuild the SDCard from a fresh download of the R4.1.2 system, and then restore my configuration from a backup.
So, no problem for OpenGD77 based hotspots (which connect by USB) but the R4.1.2 upgrade killed my nodes when the GPIO based MMDVMHSHat (simplex or duplex) was in the hotspot.

Hi Mark
Thanks for posting.
I think there is a thread about this on the PiStar forum
