Request a copy of RD-5R firmware for hotspot support

Post by BG2LWR » Tue Feb 20, 2024 7:02 pm

I really want this firmware, I want to use it to turn on hot spots, but unfortunately, I can't find any friends anywhere. If you have one, send me a very thank you.

Beware, hotspot (modem) mode is not supported on the RD-5R, because of hardware limitation.

Hotspot could be enabled in the RD5R code, but the USB connection would randomly disconnect when you tried to use the radio in hotspot mode

You would need to modify the internal electronics to add better RF suppression onto the USB and other internal connections, otherwise it will constantly have problems with the USB disconnecting when the radio transmits

Buy a hotspot or another radio

Is there any compiled firmware I won't modify the code Thank you for that

What software or application is needed to edit the source code so that it can output the firmware and load it onto the radio I don't change the code, but it's worth it

I guess I'll just buy a hot circuit. Thank you.

Code is compiled using MCUExpresso which is the official development IDE for the MK22 in the RD-5R
