[Not a bug] DMR DISCONNECTION during listening

Post by IU8OGE » Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:11 pm

:?: I have the latest release of opengd77 16 oct. 2020 on a radiodditty gd77

often while I am listening to a DMR TG with an excellent signal it suddenly disconnects and I have to press PTT for 1 second to reconnect and continue listening than after some minutes again signal disconnect and just pressing PTT for one second reconnect and I go back to listen.

I tried with Dmr filter off and on, ts filter off and on and cc filter off and on, but nothing change

Any suggestion ?

Depending on the repeater, some TGs are set as static and others on demand.
After some time, the latter are automatically disconnected and must be recalled with a push of PTT so that it is possible to listen to them again.
So the question is, exactly which TG are you talking about?
The thing could very well be normal and wanted.

Hi tangogc.
So what you find is pretty normal, as TACs have a timing, that is, if not used, after a while they expire and the repeater returns normally to the network with the programmed statistical TGs:

Hence in the end, the behavior you notice is absolutely not a bug.

Hi tangogc.
No need to apologize at all.
In order to try to provide an answer, you must first consult the dashboard for the repeater you are using for the QSO, there it will probably be specified which are the static TGs and which are the dynamic ones on demand.
And while you consult the repeater dashboard, it might be useful to check that all you are not unknowingly disconnecting each other, as other users may request a different TG and in turn you could recall the one you were using for the QSO.
In any case, generally the TG TACs are set up dynamic on demand, it seems unusual to me that some of them are used static on a repeater.
