Public Beta (2021 09 05)
Public Beta (2021 09 05)
Following on from the thread about the 2021 09 04 public beta
Some bugs in that version have now been fixed, including the satellite maximum elavation calculation
Swedish language support has also been added.
A new public beta is available here
https://www.opengd77.com/downloads/PublicBeta_20210905/
Notes.
1. Localisation files are now also available see https://www.opengd77.com/downloads/Publ ... alisation/
2. Satellite Maximum Elavation values are rounded to the nearest whole number. So if the max elavation was 48.5, this will be rounded to 49.
but 48.499 will show as 48 deg
Hence I have seen some passes show as 90 deg, because the actual value was 89.7 deg.
I've not noticed any passes above 90 deg so far , but if the predicion code generates angles > 90.5 deg, (which should never happen) then tthe GD77 would show the max elevation as 91 deg.
I've tripple checked the output of the satellite calculation code, but becuase there are a lot of variables, including the keps and location and time etc, then there will be some variation of max elevation between the GD77 and other prediction programs.

thank u
Re: Public Beta (2021 09 05)
FYI.
I've had several reports with various DMR and beep related problems in this and yesterday's version
The beep may stop working, and require the radio to be rebooted.
Also there may be problems if the TimeSlot or CC filter is disabled.

Re: Public Beta (2021 09 05)
Great Job Roger, will you implement the possibility to download NOOA satellites in the future?
Re: Public Beta (2021 09 05)
You need to edit the satellites.txt file which is installed in the same folder as the exe of the CPS, and add extra satellites
Set the tx freq to 0, to prevent accidental transmission
Re: Public Beta (2021 09 05)
Wow! First, this is a great feature!
I'm in Buenos Aires, and when trying to put my coordinates, I can set latitude to south but can't set longitude to "W", I'm missing something?

Re: Public Beta (2021 09 05)
Thanks Roger, I missed that.
Testing this new firmware, I've found two other issues:
- Radio doesn't store date correctly when power off, after turning it on, year is 2621.
- When writing codeplug to radio, screen corrupts and back to normal after writing finishes, not seen before.

Is it possible to use a subtone when communicating with a satellite?
