Download Callsign Database

Post by wa1vei » Fri Oct 08, 2021 4:44 pm

I have been unable to download the callsign database to my GD77. I receive "Opengd77 radio not detected" message. I can read and write codeplugs without any problem. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the CPS, but get the same results.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Paul

OK

This looks like a Windows 11 problem

Microsoft no longer allows non approved drivers to be installed.

For some reason the Com port installation has failed on your machine.

If you look in the device manager, it won't say "OpenGD77" as the name of the Com port

I'm attempting to fix this problem for Windows 11 now, and the fix will probably work for you, albeit you will need to manually select the Com port as the driver installation has failed.

Try this Experimental version

People should not use this version unless they have a problem with not being able to upload the DMR ID's or access the Calibration data

https://www.opengd77.com/downloads/Experimental/

Note.
This version is no longer able to read or write codeplugs to the official firmware.

If you need to read a codeplug from a radio running the official firmware, you'll need to use the official CPS.

Note.

This version has other changes, and I just noticed a TG name not displaying correctly.

Once you diagnosed the issue, I decided to load the CPS on my other Windows 10 machine. The correct driver installed and I am good to go. I will save the experimental software for another day. Very much appreciate the help.

OK...

BTW.

I think there is a intermittent bug with the DMR data sent from the CPS to the radio.

Not sure at the moment what combination of factors cause it, because the bug vanished at the moment and I can't get it to go wrong again

Updated version of the Experimental CPS can be downloaded from this link

https://www.opengd77.com/downloads/Experimental/

This fixes the problems with DMR ID uploads, but not all functionality has been tested, hence this version should not be used unless you can't install the Windows drivers
