This is a major change to the firmware.

Currently the code for both versions is 30% different, but we may be able to unify the code to make it 20% or less different, after the MD9600 version is more stable

The CPU in the MD9600 is the same as many other TYT radios, including the TYT UV380 (Dual Band MD380)
The UV380 is a combination of the MD9600 and GD77 hardware, because it uses the same CPU as the MD9600 (and MD380), but the same RF chip as the GD77.

So in the long term, it may be possible to create a version which works on the UV380 (aka Retevis RT-3S)

I need to know which hardware version your radio is, and also your DMR ID number.
Also do you have the official firmare for your radio in case you need to go back to the official firmware.

There are many versions of the official firmware.

Anyone testing the MD9600 version

Please can you try this new CPS version

https://www.opengd77.com/downloads/Publ ... .02.01.exe

There is a new menu which allows selection of GD77/GD77S/DM1801/RD5R, or MD9600

This replaces the functionality which required the shift key to be held down

Thanks for the email Roger. I am now using the OpenGd firmware on the 9600. the first impression is fantastic. We will continue testing.
