UK Wide
Re: UK Wide
Hi There
Thanks for the codeplug.
Please note the update to
Callsign GB3TD
Frequency Input 430.7875MHz
Output 438.3875MHz
Channel UR63
Tone Access 118.8Hz CTCSS (J)
Frequencies and tone access is different to the codeplug as it was changed this year.

Re: UK Wide
Tried using this file, but unable to open it.. What file format is it written in.
Re: UK Wide
It's a .g77 file.
It can be opened with the OpenGD77 CPS.

Re: UK Wide
After about 18hrs of head scratching over the last 3 days and assistance from another Ham, we came to the conclusion there was a problem with the pc, so I backed up all the files and uninstalled/reinstalled windows 10 and set about programing my GD77, and low and behold it all went smoothly, as to why it wouldnt in the first place, I guess I will never know. So I now have a radio to opperate as I want it too.
Re: UK Wide
Thanks for sharing this, saved me a lot of time writing a code plug from scratch.
I didn't understand why there was only 1 dmr memory for each repeater/zone, until I realised you were using the talk group list to select each function via the mic A/B buttons, instead of the more common seperate memory channel for each, very clever.

Re: UK Wide
This is the standard way to write OpenGD77 codeplugs.
The only reason non-OpenGD77 radios have to have mutliple duplicate channels, each with a separate TG and even a separate TS, is because commerial radio firmware is not designed to operate in the way that Ham radio networks operate.
The User Guide explains how to write these effecient codeplugs, and the extension to the Digital Contact data that also allows for TS overwrites per TG.
Re: UK Wide
Well that explains why i've never seen this method before, i was kind of hoping i could port this method to other sets somehow but clearly not.
Very clever and user friendly way of doing things...once i'd figured it out.
It'd be nice if manufacturers followed your example...
I detest programming sets dmr usually, but this one hasn't been so bad at all with your FW and CPS, although this guys codeplug has saved a tonne of time....and i've been doing this since the start, at least in the UK/EU, the Motorola cps was expensive and painful to use, but some of the Chinese cps were horrific.
I'm still working my way through the User Guide (https://github.com/LibreDMR/OpenGD77_Us ... r_Guide.md), unusual for a ham, i've even been known to read the odd owners manual too hah

Re: UK Wide
I think its unlikely that any other manufacturer will add these feature, except perhaps brands designed specifically for Hams.
I think Anytone may have some Ham friendly features, but I don't have any Anytone radios as they cost $$$ so I don't have first hand experience of them.
Re: UK Wide
You don't really even have to use a talkgroup list. It is extremely easy to enter the required talkgroup 'on the fly'. Just press #, enter the talkgroup number then press Green. It does require you to remember the available talkgroup numbers but if you are the sort of person that refers to groups by number and not by name then it can be quicker than scrolling through a long list.
