Today I'm trying to install Open MDUV380, RT3S, the file loads normally in the Boot Update loader, when I give it the command to load in my RT3S it loads it by scrolling the green line, then it stops and starts from scratch. Then I turn it off but the RT3S remains fixed in DFU mode. I have to reload its original firmware for it to work again.
Help me 73 de IZ2NAB Giancarlo
The sequence of operations I perform is exactly as written with the exception. Now I read about using the CPS Open GD77 as a loader but it asks me for files with a .MD9600 extension........and not a *.bin file extension. Then it means that the OpenMDUV380.bin file cannot fit.
Please write a list of exactly what actions you performed.

e.g.

1. Turn off the radio
2. Press and hold SK1 and PTT
3. Turn on the radio
4 Connect USB cable
5 In cps set radio type

etc etc
etc

You need both the bin file from the donor software and the opengd77 file (now a zip file, older versions is a bin )

Download the Official firmware to act as the "donor" for the DMR codec

https://www.passion-radio.com/index.php ... chment=760

Unzip the donor firmware zip file, to extract the donor file MD9600-CSV(2571V5)-V26.45.bin

This donor file is used on several radios with the same dmr chip so it's not limited to MD-9600

Select first the donor file and then select the opengd77 image in the opengd77 software loader.

Is there documentation on how the satellite APRS works now ?
I have one entry per satellite matching the satellite name, but that seems impractical. Is there a better way to enable the satellite APRS ?
Thanks.

Only one active satellite (The ISS) supports APRS at the moment. The correct configuation is already included in the satellites.txt file in the CPS which is transferred to the radio when you update the keps

The config method is only for people doing experimental work e.g. In theory the operators of PO-101 can enable APRS but its unclear whether they ever do this
Also the new Maya satellites which are not available apart from to their owners, in theory support APRS but the details the operational frequencies of these satellites is not publically available

Thank you for all the work which goes into this. The volume display on the UV380 is great...I really wanted that feature.

I have one suggestion moving forward. If the volume meter is activated in the radio's settings, it would be nice if turning the volume knob while the radio's display is inactive would turn on the display, so you can see what you're setting the volume to. Just a thought.

Thanks again for all you do.

"Individual menu screens scan be accessed quickly using the QuickKeys system.

Menus are assigned a QuickKey number, by entering the menu in question and pressing button SK2 and any number key at the same time.

On the VFO or Channel screen pressing the same key e.g. SK2 and "2" will open the same menu again."

I wasn't able to. (RT3S)

This function works OK on the RT3S

Press SK2 Press number key

If Key is already assigned you need to clear it first
